Goyt paddle

Here are a few pics of our paddle on the Goyt today, it was really pleasant with good water, sunshine and warmth in November.

Well done to John only 12 and he paddled like a pro, the pic of the paddle in the air at Marple Bridge weir is John.

Irwell paddle

Last Sunday a few of us had a pleasant paddle on the Irwell, it was a good level but a lot lower the the week before when Mark and I did it. It was good to see the difference so soon afterwards.

On this paddle Finchy showed us a unique way of shooting the weir in an open boat. He says he learnt it at his 5 star training.

This is how it is done, you turn your back on the obstacle, look up stream, sit at the front, put your paddle down and eat your sandwich and hope for the best, oh and no I didn't make it but next time I will, trust me.
